My previous post I shared how to make salted egg. In this recipe I will share how we can make a salted egg sauce with that. This taste sauce goed well on almost everything. You can eat it with rice, on eggplants, on French Fries. In this example I am going to use it on tofu. Yummy it’s very delicious.
This super tasty treat should not be consumed too often. Yes, it’s very delicious, and a great addition to almost any dish. It’s also high in sodium and cholesterol. So enjoy this recipe, but with moderation.

That being said had the opportunity to use fresh spring onions, harvested from my garden. It makes me happy that I can use fresh ingredients to cook.
Ingredients
- Tofu
- 2 pieces of salted egg
- a hand full of spring onions
- 4 cloves of garlic
- Margarine or butter
- Oil
Preperation

Start by cutting the ingredients. Cut the tofu in cubes. The spring onions can be cut into small pieces. The same goes for the garlic. Add the oil in a pan and when this is hot enough add the tofu. Fry and stir it occasionally.
When the tofu is golden brown on multiple sides it is done. Put it on a plate on the side.
Salted egg sauce
Now let’s make the main star of this dish, the salted egg sauce itself. Just to be clear, the eggs were already cooked on the inside from the previous recipe.
Remove the egg shell and add the eggs in the pan. while the fire is between medium and low I start smashing the egg. When it’s well spread in the pan, add oil. It should start frying and a yellow kind of mush starts cooking. Add the springions, garlic and butter. Let it simmer/cook for 3-5 minutes an stir.
After 3-5 minutes, add some water. Not a lot, don’t water the sauce down too much. Just to make the sauce have more moist. I use less than a quarter of a glass. let it simmer for a few minutes.
Pour the salted egg sauce on top of your dish and enjoy!

Salted Egg Sauce recipe
Equipment
- 1 pan
Ingredients
- 200 gr tofu
- 50 gr butter
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 spring onion
- 2 salted eggs
- 1 frying oil
- 1/8 cup water
Instructions
- start by cutten the ingredients. The tofu in cubes. The garlic, spring onion into small piece
- Fry the tofu golden brown and put in on a plate
- Remove the egg shells, and smash the salted eggs in a mush in the pan
- Add oil and fry the salted eggs on medium heat for 2 minutes
- Add oil, butter and stir well for 2 minutes. You should see it cooking during this
- Add garlic, spring onions and stir it for another 2-3 minutes
- Ad a little bit water, be sure not to water it down too much. Better add little by little. If you notice the sauce get's watery, just cook a bit longer so the water evaporates.
- Pour the sauce over your dish. In this recipe it is tofu.
